Minnie Driver to voice animated Lara Croft

We have a very serious question regarding this particular news item. What happens when you put Minnie Driver into a Mini Cooper S? Would the unusual occurrence of a famous Driver becoming a Mini driver release an unstoppable explosion of meta-energy, forcing the entire universe to infinitely collapse in on itself? We're not sure if anybody has tested this theory, but the more likely outcome would be Ms. Minnie running us over for childishly poking fun at her name and wasting an entire paragraph before talking about her latest role.

Ahem.

The gist of it, you see, is that GameTap's upcoming ReVision animated series, which initially chronicles the adventures of one Lara Croft, is set to become a star vehicle of sorts for Minnie Driver. Reuters reports the actress and occasional singer will lend her voice to Tomb Raider's gun-toting heroine for ten episodes, the first three of which will come from Aeon Flux alum, Peter Chung. Further episodes will have other artists interpreting the iconic action archaeologist, while future seasons of ReVision will delve into other characters and games.

not a huge tomb raider fan but this revision thing sounds kind of cool if they start offering movies on game series that I interested in (or used to be interested in). some ninja gaiden or double dragon movies would be pretty sweet

So with Peter Chung doing the first three episodes, this means everyone will finally get to see Lara Croft bound in electrical tape with a ball gag in her mouth as she flexs and moves and somewhere, slightly above her bones, you can visually see her muscles move? Umm, yay?

Why DOES Peter Chung insist on putting less meat on his characters than the average chicken wing?

I suppose she has to do something seeing as both her acting and singing career were over years ago.

Oh wow, I missed that line about Peter Chung somehow. The thought of him imagining Lara Croft is disturbing and intriguing at the same time.

Perhaps she'll end up looking like those 3 coffee-drinking, smoking worms from Men in Black.

I only know her from Good Will Hunting and I think she was Stan's new fling in a season or two of Will & Grace.

Uh, yeah. Three movies (including a little thing called The Simpsons movie) and one TV series in 2007, and now Tomb Raider - and it's only July. Yep, her career's in the toilet!
